ONE RAW EPISODE...... Here's one of those episodes I recorded months ago and decided to tuck away.  I was in the middle of alot of turmoil and what I call a tail spin of sorts.  What I've realized is that I was just digging deeper and I'm doing it.  I'm not giving up on working through it all to ensure I never turn to food, people or anything other than God when my emotions and the world gets the best of me.  I hope this give you courage to attempt the body time line that Rachael Gilbert lies out in her book, IMAGE RESTORED  .

This may not be my best episode, but it's PROGRESS!  I'm finding my voice again!
Today I read you my chapter in Becoming an Unstoppable Woman in Health and Wellness. I say in the episode, I'm going to read the chapter, then talk about.  Well what happened... I read the chapter then rambled a bit and I refuse to re-record. Because these days my focus is PROGRESS over PERFECTION!   
I maybe finding my voice again but clearly my mind and voice havent lined up.   So here's the skinny....  The point of this whole episode is Health and Wellness is a journey and sometimes ALL OUT WAR!   
We are WINNING that war when we learn what is best and healthiest for ourselves. 
 We are WINNING that war when love for ourselves comes first!

So there are two things about my message that can get you in a little bit of an ackward place.  First, I tell you all live your life outloud.  Then I also say….. Dig Deep and find out your WHY!   Why do you do what you do?, Why do you want to change? What do you value most?  Figure out your own core values and stick to them.
So here’s the thing… I’m struggling with something right now that’s caused me to want to not live outloud, it’s caused me to want to run and hide from the world and truth be told has caused me to find my way to the bottom of many fast food drive thru bags.  So when you think… I haven’t heard much from Keatha lately, It’s true I’m somewhat on sabbatical.
I took my own advice and dug deeper to figure out WHY I was responding to certain situations the way that I was and why I was feeling so lost.   What I found was that there was unresolved trauma from my past that triggered me in ways that maybe other l people wouldn’t respond to in the same way.
But more importantly, I found myself living incongruently to my own core values. one thing I have learned in my personal journey is that any time you are going against your own core values, chaos emerges.   This is exactly what was happening, there were just things that go so deeply against my core values that my spirit and soul just reacted so badly.   But understanding the WHY behind it allowed me to love myself and give myself some grace.   The famous words of Jane Pilgner that have brought me so clarity is a statement she taught me in a class many years ago and if you are a client of mine and you’ve experienced an overeat, I often referred you back to this statement…. Well of course LOVE you feel _ insert emotion______________ because of __situation______. 
A lot of times that  first feeling in the  blank causes us to eat.   Sad, lonely, disappointed, neglected, left off, alone, miserable, out of control… the list goes on and on.    Just google emotion wheel and you'll get a ton of free ones, even YouTube videos on how to create your own. 
Of course, you are thinking, well just stay away from those situations.   That's exactly what I did, For YEARS I avoided this type of situation.  Unfortunately, recently I’ve been faced with the situation repeatedly.  I found myself feeling traumatized and almost wounded and felt like I couldn’t control my own environment to protect myself from this reoccurring feeling.   
One counselor described it as feeling like your being hit over and over or someone being shot over and over but in placed that weren’t life threatening.   It was true.  The more I experienced it, the weaker I felt, the sadder I became, the more lost I was on the inside.  I was fighting like HELL to work through it, but it was getting the best of me.    It was during one of my podcast interviews when it hit me that I needed to figure out WHY I felt wounded and traumatized.      
Once you have your mind in this place, it’s so easy to feel defeated and listen to the lies of the world and the enemy.  It starts to compound and compound until I felt completely lost again.  It's been several years since I felt this was and  GOD WAS NOT HAVING IT.    Since I’ve started my little sabbatical , God has shown up in ways to loving point out my own self sabotaging so to speak but also shown me all the good that I do bring to the world.  
Sisters this battle with our bodies and minds is ongoing an battle… It’s an all out  WAR! 
 Sisters, If you can relate to any of this, I cannot stress enough the importance of working through your stuff.  If you want to get to the bottom of your weight issues, your disordered eating, your relationship issues.  You need to journal, you need to get some help from a professional.    I’ve given you some excellent resources and access to some incredible life coaches that specialize in different areas, use them.
I can coach your through weight loss, I can coach you through transition and maintenance but when deep seeded issues rear their ugly heads… you need more and it’s my job to recognize that in you and even in myself!
I’m taking my own advice and I’m going dig even deeper for the remainder of Lent.  I want to show up in the world as the absolute best version of myself.  That means, I need to spend a lot more time with God, journaling and resting.   So as you hear some of the topics shift and episodes a little father apart… know that I’m here getting myself better and better to serve God and you as the best version of myself.
So sister, never let anyone determine your core values, dig deep, live outloud without any reservation!   
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US BRINGS GOOD INTO THE WORLD, even when we bring our ugly along.  It’s only through the work do we all get better together!

Yes, you hear me say it all the time.  It's never too late to lose weight and feel great but it's true. It's NEVER too late to "fill in your own blank" and on today's episode there are several amazing women going to reiterate that to you.   Sister, you can do anything you want to do.  You can lose weight, get strong, start a business, improve your relationships, change your hair color, becoming organized, chose happiness and joy... ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO!  Every day you have the choice to stay the same or be 1% better.  
I was humbled and honored to participate in the "Becoming an Unstoppable Women in your 40's and Beyond"  Roundtable hosted by Hanna Olivas and She Rises Studios.   I was honored to sit at this table with Michelle Emmick, Christina Vela, Nicole Curtis, Leslie Gaudet and Michele Meza.   We all openly share our strengths, our struggles but most importantly the hope we love sharing with other women.

Today's episode is all about THE menopause and perimenopause!   I'm joined by one of my co-authors from Becoming An Unstoppable Woman in Health and Wellness for a light hearted fun conversation about menopause and the book. 
My friend Kim Rendon is a a 30 year registered dietician and is on mission to help women thrive through perimenopause and beyond.  So much so that she titled her chapter, Become An Ageless Goddess.
In Kim's chapter, she describes the symptoms to look for as we enter these dreaded phases as women, but more importantly she lays out some very simple healthy habits to ensure you are feeling your best at any age.    Yep, it's still all about those healthy habits that help you lose weight.  They also help control those menopause and perimenopause symptoms.  I think you'll hear a lot of similarities in our approach to overall health.

Today, The Divorce Confidante- Joy Bartholomew  joins me for a sister to sister conversation about overall health and how we can show up as our best self.  
Joy  is  a certified divorce coach, podcaster, yoga teacher and single mom to her both kids and dogs!  Joy actually retired after being a police officer for 30 years.  I have to laugh and think if she’s not helping some women stay out of jail too during their divorces.   (Just kidding…well maybe.)
After experiencing her own divorce and the drama that ensued, she wanted to be a resource for women navigating their way thru the murky waters of divorce, co-parenting and single mom life.  I love that she’s taken a very difficult life experience and turned it into a way to help other women!  
Does that sound familiar?   I’m sure you’re already figuring out that we hit it off like old friends!  
In her coaching practice her hope is to give women safe passage through divorce, avoiding the unnecessary pitfalls, so they can reclaim and rebuild their life after divorce.  So once again, I’m bringing you a guest that has walked the walk before talking the talk. 
So, sisters as we go into the episode, go into it with an open mind. This episode is NOT just for women going through a divorce. The topics Joy and I discuss today are things as women we need to focus on no matter what our marital state is and you never know how getting your mind, body and spirit healthy will change relationships!  However, if you are in need of this type of help, I hope you will reach out to Joy.
