In this episode, I give you a recap of 2022 through my word of the year-PROGRESS.  I also give you a sneak peak into what my 2023 word of the year - GROWTH looks like through the the filter of my priorities and core values. 
Yes, all the previous episodes  in 2022 where I've brought on special guests to talk about habits stacking, goal setting, how to set your priorities and know you core values all come into play in your personal development growth.    And let's be honest, it plays a huge role in your weight loss and maintaining your weight loss. 
My hope is that you'll take all these pieces from 2022 and develop your own 2023 plan and mission statement.
You get to decide who you want to be in 2023! 
Read that again and then say it this way OUTLOUD:  I get to decide who I want to be in 2023!  Then get to work writing down what that looks like.... Today on War on Weight, I’m taking this old school podcast… No fancy intro, no fancy music.  Yep, it might as well be live.  Well I have added the nice Christmas music…. Because it’s Christmas week.   It’s ok if you are listening in July…. My guest, Katie Jefcoat and I agree that having an intentional day provides order, gives clarity and when we honor our core values with our priorities it provides harmony.   I love that Katie says balance just isn’t possible, we need to look for harmony.  How long have we strived for balance to only feel unbalanced and torn?  If you go back to my episode on core values and put it all together, it makes total sense.  Living life within your core values and making them your priorities brings harmony and happiness!

Tis the season…RIGHT? 
This is supposed to be a season of celebrating love, peace, joy that comes from the birth of our Lord. Being grateful for all our blessings, appreciating all that we have and just a season of being thankful. But unfortunately, it’s a season where become financially unstable, stressed from all the craziness of parties, shopping, family events, pressure of buying gifts leads a lot of people, especially women into a season quite opposite of love, peace and joy.   As women we are wanting to provide our families love, peace and joy and somewhere in there we are just looking for approval.  We are looking for that affirmation that we are worthy of our families love, we are worthy of their time and attention and when we don’t get it we eat more, we drink more, we spend more.   Where is the peace in that??  Sister you are worthy and wonderfully made just the way you are.  There's no need to stress yourself out and ruin your finances over a holiday of love, peace, hope and joy.

Ok Sisters, here it is a holiday quick tip episode to ensure you don't gain those extra holiday pounds and you even may even lose a little weight!  
It's the holidays and you're busy....let's make it quick!
 
1.  Drink 16 ounces of water every day when you get up, especially on a holiday!
2.  Drink 8 ounces of water with every meal
3. Eat several small meals - Don't starve yourself all day and go into the holiday meal starving!
4. Enjoy your friends and family.   It's about relationships not the food!
5. Every choice matters.  Stop and put down the fork multiple times.  Give yourself some space to savor the bites and the conversations.
6. If you are going to several gatherings...Decide how you are going to eat at each one.  VERY small meal at each or a different course at each gathering.
7. Get Picky about what you eat.  Don't just eat it because it's there.  Eat what you love and that serves your body well.
8. Use a small plate. If there isn't one available, don't let your food touch
9. THREE tablespoons or less of each item. NO MORE!
10.  Wear tight pants... NO YOGA PANTS!
11. Water bottle in one hand and napkin in the other to prevent senseless grazing!
12.  Chew sugar-free gum while you cook and after you are finished eating.
BONUS:  Journal every day this week on how you want your holiday to go?  How do you want to feel next week?  What goals do you have and what choices do you need to make over the holidays to reach them?  What would a WIN look like for you this holiday?    How are you going to take care of the body God gave you during these holidays?  What are you most thankful for .....FOOD or the true meaning of the holiday??
Write, Write, Write this week... Get it out of your head and on paper so you can show up as your best self for the world to see on this holiday.  You will be thankful you did!

Are you constantly in turmoil that leads to failed relationships and emotional eating?
If you don’t know what your own core values are, you can’t live your life in peace.  It’s the lack of congruency within ourselves and how we are living that leads to the turmoil. Inner turmoil can lead to overeating and emotional eating.   It is almost impossible to lose weight and live free if you are in inner turmoil.   I’m never going to say it’s not going to happen, but figure out your core values and life will get easier.  When life gets a little easier, you can start to make those 1% daily improvements to reach your goals and lose weight. And in Elisa case, she changed her life and saved her marriage. In my case, I lost weight.  Elisa couldn’t have said it better…. Our Core Values are our north star!   Today, I have my friend and Life Coach Elisa Fucci on the show. She is a relationship expert and core connector coach. She certified from the life coach school in 2021. She is host of Living La Vida A Full podcast, she is a motivational speaker and book author of UNLEASH HER. 
If you are like us, you probably haven’t even really thought about what your core values really are and how they impact our lives.   I know for me that words like….Bold, Modesty, Mindfulness, Moderation, Valor, Wholesomeness, Stealth were never words that I used to describe my core values until I did the work.   Check out the CORE VALUES workbook I mentioned in the episode to get a full list of core values and one of the best workbooks I’ve ever done.  I HIGHLY recommend that EVERY WOMAN work through this workbook.  It’s gold and I would never even try to re-create something that another amazing woman has created with perfection!

Do you want to WANT the Salad?  Do you have any idea how to fuel your body?

Back a few months ago, I released part one of this interview promising part two.  It was one of my first episodes and very first interview!  Then I released the bloopers earlier today just to show you that you can do hard things.   This is the rest of that interview and you’re going to love it!  Stef Gass joins me for a strong candid conversation on food, faith and fitness!  Sister, you can find freedom in your own body, mind and spirit. When you work out, is it bringing you JOY?   When you meal plan does it bring you PEACE? 
Do you LOVE how you feel after you’ve fueled your body?
