Girl, you are not alone! Do you ever wonder if your eating habits are normal or maybe there's a problem. It's possible you just overeat. But it's also possible that you are a binger. Binge eating is a HUGE topic that could never be covered in one or two or even six episodes, nor would I ever attempt to tackle some root issues alone. I've asked binge expert Jane Pilger to join me on this episode. It's REAL talk and RAW at sometimes. When I started this podcast, I wanted it to be unedited and organic. This episode is a truly one of those episodes, I found myself tongue tied, misspoken and this episode has many flaws in it. But its REAL and keeping it that way.

In this final mini episode of my interview with Maritza Parra, we talk more about sugar-free living, fueling our bodies and just being ok with emotions. Maritza gives us a simple act to try to process a feeling during an urge to overeat or drink. It's kinda brilliant! I want to hear how it works for you if you try it. My favorite quote from this interview was " nothing tastes as good as healthy feels!" and she was quoting or paraphrasing from her husband. Just remember, feeling deprived is nothing more than a thought! Replace that thought with I deserve "______" and you will find success in your war on weight!

Do you ever get in your own way? Goodness gracious was that ever one of my biggest issues before I completely revamped my mindset. Don't get me wrong, it's still my biggest issue BUT I have learned to fight that mental battle and keep it from showing up on the bathroom scale.
Join me in this PART ONE of Heartwork Journaling with Maritza Parra. Maritza teaches a very creative and mind untangling way of getting our emotions out of the way of ourselves. Learning her technique has been invaluable to me and I know you will find value in it too! You'll hear us chat about a thought download. It's a mind dump. Just write what ever thoughts come to mind. Sometimes just getting it on paper is enough to give you enough room to think clearly. For me, I found doing the doodles along with key journal prompts made words flow, from very deep places. We do a "mock" and 25,000 ft. view of what self coaching looks like on familiar feeling overwhelm. We kept it very much surface and emotion free. When you do the work, you get past the negative emotions that TANGLE UP facts, reality and circumstances. You've heard me say it over and over... MINDSET IS EVERYTHING. Pick up a pen, grab some color and start living life LARGE and in FULL COLOR!

I'm no expert other than I've been fighting the battle of binge eating for almost 40 years. Wow, that makes me sound old, but trust me I'm living a larger life in a smaller body without weekly binges. No kidding in the past two or three binges a week was very normal, now I'm happy to say I've learned how to handle it better by managing my emotions. Two to three binges a year is such a WIN! In this episode I'll challenge you to figure out what you really need instead of food.
